Roosevelt University announces a search for a dynamic, visionary and accomplished academic leader for the position of Provost and Executive Vice President. The University seeks nominations of and applications from candidates from both public and private institutions.

The successful candidate will be a proven academic leader with a distinguished record of scholarship and teaching, and a leadership style that is inclusive and collegial, including senior-level experience in planning and management of human, fiscal, and facility resources. The University is currently preparing a new strategic plan under the leadership of a new President. The Provost and Executive Vice President will work closely and collaboratively with the President, other administrators, the deans and faculty, and students to strengthen the University's academic programs and to perpetuate and foster academic excellence across the University community. He or she should have significant experience with strategic planning, accountability, and assessment. Roosevelt is a university that cherishes and promotes both access and quality; the successful candidate will have a commitment to diversity and a working knowledge of effective programs to enhance student recruitment, retention, and success. He or she will have the ability to provide leadership in the use of academic and administrative technology. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to develop valuable partnerships with local and regional organizations.

Reporting directly to the President, the Provost and Executive Vice-President will have broad management authority over all aspects of the University and will serve as deputy to the President in both academic and administrative matters. She or he will be responsible for the academic integrity of the University and the establishment of an intellectually stimulating environment. He or she will ensure the quality of the learning environment through student outcomes assessment, program review and faculty development, and will monitor University and programmatic accreditation processes.

Founded in 1945 by faculty, students, and staff who were dedicated to fundamental access to education, to excellence in teaching, and to social justice issues, Roosevelt University is a private, non-sectarian, metropolitan university serving a complex urban/suburban community. More than 7,300 students are enrolled at campuses in downtown Chicago and in northwest suburban Schaumburg, and at more than 30 corporate and other sites. There are 197 full-time faculty members. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
